Financial Terms Canada -> consumer price index- consumer price index is a monthly measure of price fluctuations compiled by Statistics Canada. The consumer price index measures the retail prices of a "basket of goods and services" including food, transportation, housing, clothing, etc. The consumer price index is weighted (each of its components has different weight in the calculation).
